Third grade parents, don't forget that our field trip to the Detroit Institute of Art is this coming Thursday, February 5th 10:30-2:00. Students MUST bring a disposable lunch...this means that all materials will be thrown away when they are done eating, so no Tupperware.
Fourth grade parents, please keep in mind that your students should be in the planning stages of their Economics Day project. They should be gathering materials and starting to make things that will not spoil ahead of time.

Here's our week at a glance:
English Language Arts
- We were introduced to Pourquoi tales this week. The students used them to continue exploring cause and effect in texts.
- 3rd graders have been developing the problems and solutions for their realistic fiction stories.
- 4th graders have been working on a group literary essay for the short story "Retired."
- We have added the area model to our division strategies. The students are doing great so far!
- We have also been focusing on interpreting remainders and analyzing story problems.
- Our exploration of magnets continued this week. We discovered the strongest parts of a magnet, and we're investigating the poles of magnets as we head into next week.
