It's officially the end of the 2nd trimester. This means that report cards will be done, printed, and sent home at some point after the break. I am able to accept corrections and absent work from those students that were out the last couple of days. As long as I get assignments/corrections by the Monday that we return, I can get them into the grade book.
Otherwise, it's time to look forward to the fresh start of a new trimester. Students that had fallen behind get a clean start after the break! :) Please help them at home by checking their folders each day and periodically checking Parent Portal for missing assignments.

Here's a recap of our week:
English Language Arts
- The students practiced intonation and inflection while practicing our readers theater Pourquoi Tales.
- We took time this week to do mini-quizzes on their morning work booklets to end the trimester. They were able to use past weeks' work to help on the quizzes.
- Fourth graders have received their own short story that they are reading and brainstorming theme ideas for their literary essays.
- Third graders have been writing story leads for their realistic fiction stories.
- After reviewing our division strategies, we took a unit assessment on Thursday. The students will get these back after the break, and they will be the first math grade for the 3rd trimester. As always, they will have an opportunity to make corrections.
- Our next unit of study will be geometry.
- After reviewing our Energy Transfer unit, we took a unit test on Wednesday. The students had the opportunity to make corrections and turn them back in by Friday. Absent students may turn these in on the Monday we get back from break.
- Our next unit of study will be States of Matter.
- The 4th graders did an AMAZING job with their Economics Day projects. Everyone had a great time buying, selling, and enjoying the advertisements. Our 3rd graders got some great practice for next year as helpers and consumers!
