You will be seeing various assessments coming home today and tomorrow. Please make sure your students are making corrections to these assessments and bringing them back for an improved grade by Monday. You should see a homophones quiz, our science unit 1 test, and our math test on addition and subtraction.
You will also see a white piece of construction paper for your student to make a Red Ribbon Week poster to be hung in the halls next week. The posters should show off their creativity and be about Anti-Bullying. This is the theme of Red Ribbon Week. Please return the completed posters by Monday.
We are still in need of long Kleenex boxes and paper egg cartons for our Halloween festivities next Friday. Don't forget to send in $2 towards party supplies, please.

- We are working on using visualization to make inferences while reading.
- The class has been busy revising their personal narratives for a final draft. They have been adding effective endings, internal stories, and transition words. They have also been applying these strategies to their Witches Brew recipe.
- The beginning of the week was all about practicing and reviewing for our assessment on addition and subtraction.
- On Thursday, we were able to start exploring the meaning of multiplication.
- Our first social studies unit is geography. The students have each been assigned a region of either Michigan or the United States. This region will be their responsibility throughout the year as we study geography, history, economics, and government.
- The students have had a great time beginning to explore their region on Google Earth.
